Netflix's Use of 'Tiger King' Tattoo Photo Isn't Copyright Infringement, Federal Judge Rules

A federal judge in Pennsylvania has sided with Netflix in a copyright infringement action, after a tattoo artist filed suit over a photo of her “Joe Exotic” tattoo briefly appearing in season two of “Tiger King.”

U.S. District Judge Stephanie L. Haines of the Western District of Pennsylvania sided with Netflix and production company Royal Goode Productions, granting their motion to dismiss the copyright infringement claim plaintiff Molly Cramer brought against the companies after they featured her photo of a tattoo she designed of Joe Exotic.
